Other than that, I’m a hippie at heart who’s a bit obsessed with freedom.
Here’s a little bit about my journey so far.
The Quest for Freedom
I’ve never been attracted to what’s “conventional.” In fact, I’ve always done my best to escape conformity.
Right after finishing high school, I left home and went traveling on my own (with just $200).
I spent the next ten years traveling and living in different countries and cities, changing location every six months, and working in various tourism and hospitality jobs.
Everything I owned fit in a backpack.
I loved the adventure and felt free in the way that I lived my life, but I wasn’t entirely at peace―inside, I was being crippled by anxiety because I didn’t know what I wanted to do with my life. I didn’t know my purpose.
I also dealt with moderate social anxiety and low self-esteem from being bullied in high school.
Wherever I went, my fears, insecurities, and anxieties came along with me.
As Jon Kabat Zinn wrote, “Wherever you go, there you are.”
After nearly ten years of wandering, I went back home to Montreal and decided to go back to school. I first pursued a degree in business and marketing: it seemed practical, and I didn’t know what else to choose.
While still at university, I enrolled in The Silva Method, a mind-training program that blends NLP, meditation, and hypnosis.
After going through this program, my interest in neuroscience, spirituality, and personal development grew and eventually took over as my primary focus. I started meditating and practicing visualization exercises daily as well as reading spiritual and channeled material.
Through my meditation practice and by studying channeled texts, such as A Course in Miracles, I finally started to experience more peace of mind.
My insecurities diminished, and I began to love and accept myself more. I also started believing in my ability to create a more fulfilling life for myself—and that I deserved it!
Then, things began to shift for the better.
Eventually, I decided to get certified as a meditation teacher and life coach to share the tools to achieve inner peace and deeper fulfillment in life with other freedom lovers.
If I had to summarize what drives (and has always driven) my actions and decisions in one word, it would be freedom.
I spent the first part of my life seeking freedom in traveling and refusing to settle and conform. Today, I seek freedom not only in my lifestyle but also as a state of mind.
I believe that true freedom comes from breaking free from any false sense of who we are so that we can experience our true and unconditioned nature.
It requires radical self-love and self-acceptance as well as having the courage to pursue our hearts’ desires.
Now, I would love to hear from you! If you’d like to connect with me and share your story, don’t hesitate—I’m all ears.
